Ph.D. Gallery (the Ph.D. stands for "Pretty hardware Designs) is a small home based business in the heartland of the U.S. We have been creating works of art from "old fashioned" cut nails for five years, and have marketed them through craft shows, art galleries, and gift shops in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, as well as a few stores and individuals from Massachusetts to California. We are John and Annie Vogel, we take great pride in our work, and it shows. Customer comments about the creativity, originality and quality of the nail sculptures we produce are consistently positive, and we strive to service all of our customers in the way that we would like to be treated. a trademark marketing program of the Kansas state department of Commerce and Housing,
and the Post Rock Opportunities Foundation,
a not-for-profit corporation which represents over 500 Kansas artists, craftsmen, and food
producers. All of the designs sold on these pages are the original copyrighted handi-work and creativity of John and/or Annie Vogel. Many of the designs are a joint effort, such as the windmills and fish, some designed exclusively by Annie, including the angel candle-holders and howdy sign, while John was responsible for most of the figurines. Constructed mainly of cut nails with a few nuts and washers etc. thrown in, each is welded and or brazed, and then polished, by hand (mainly by Annie). The first pieces were made in 1994 and have been sold through craft fairs and gift shops in
Kansas, Missouri, Massachusetts and Oklahoma and through word of mouth have also been sold to
individuals nationwide. The response has been very enthusiastic and gratifying. All of the credit card sales through this web site are handled by CCNow who is the retail agent for our internet sales. More information on their security and privacy issues can be obtained by visiting their web site. They do have a secure server available for credit card transactions and a policy of not disclosing personal information to third parties. While the on-line sales are handled by CCNow, the products are shipped directly to you from us here at Ph.D. Gallery. We also have a policy of never, never, ever selling or giving personal information about our customers to anyone else, unless required by law to do so under penalty of death. We believe that you can order from this site with no fear that anyone will learn more about you than you want them to know.
